5 NUDE EYESHADOW LOOKS

MASTER THESE ICONIC EYESHADOW STYLES

Nude eyeshadow palettes have more tricks up their sleeves than a Las Vegas magician. Ever since we introduced Nudes of New York Eyeshadow Palette, for instance, it’s been a hit! “Everyone needs this palette,” says MUA Jenna Kristina! “It seriously works for every person and occasion. You can take your look from soft and natural to full sexy glam all with one palette.” One of her go-to looks? A fiery, smoky eye. What’s so special about a bunch of beige and brown eyeshadows, you ask?! You can create TONS of iconic eyeshadow looks for starters! Here are 5 ways to wear (and apply) nude eyeshadow:

  1. NUDE EYESHADOW LOOK #1: GOLD EYESHADOW

Sweep a medium-toned brown eyeshadow over the entire lid, crease and blend out color upwards, towards brows (without bringing color all the way up). Then, fill your brush with shimmery gold eyeshadow and press color into the center of eyelids, only. Softly blend edges so the brown and gold edges blur together, but are still distinct.

  2. NUDE EYESHADOW LOOK #2: SMOKEY EYE

Brush a medium to light brown shade over lids, from lash line to crease, extending up towards eyebrows. Then, using the darkest brown shade, line the eyes with shadow along the top lash line, extending color to the temples, creating a line that reaches the end of your eyebrow. Use a clean brush to blend the dark and medium shadows on the entire lid, blending and extending color to reach the line you created. Then, trace a pale beige shadow just under the brow bone, for definition.

  3. NUDE EYESHADOW LOOK #3: NEUTRAL CAT EYE

Create a clean, neutral base by dusting the entire lid and brow with a pale beige eyeshadow shade. Then, using a wet eyeliner brush for extra intensity, apply a dark brown shadow as eyeliner, starting from the inner corners of eyes, then extending along lash line, and winging up and out, to create an exaggerated flick.

  4. NUDE EYESHADOW LOOK #4: CUT CREASE EYESHADOW

Brush a pale beige eyeshadow shade all over lids, from lashline to brow. Then, brush a medium toned bronze or brown shade into the crease of the eye, blending and fading color up towards the brow bone. Be sure to keep the lid pale—don’t let color migrate downwards. Then, use a deep brown shade as an eyeliner, drawing an even line of color from the inner corners of eyes to the outer corners. Keep the colors separate and sharp!

  5. NUDE EYESHADOW LOOK #5: BRONZE EYESHADOW

Brush a caramel shadow all over eyelids and into the crease of eyes as a base. Then, brush a shimmery bronze completely over lids, from inner to outer corners of the eye, into the crease and blending up towards the brow bone. Then, take a clean shadow brush or cotton ball and blend just the edges of the shadow up and out, towards the brow bone. Blend well, buffing color so that there is no discernible edge.

MORE WAYS TO WEAR

Push the limits of this palette! Nude eyeshadow palettes do double duty as lip color, eyebrow color and more when in a pinch. Some suggestions are:

LIPS: Add a tap of a shimmery shade to the center of lips, either over or under lip gloss, for a touch of multi-dimensional shimmer.

BROWS: Many of the matte earthy tones match brow colors, filling them in beautifully with an angled brush.

FACE: Use a shimmery shade to trace along the tops of cheekbones, whisk down the bridge of your nose, dust into the corners of your eyes—the shimmers are amazing highlighters!
